Carlo van Dam in Super Race

Dutch racing driver Carlo van Dam this weekend adds another chapter to his already highly versatile career; at the Taebaek Racing Park-circuit he will participate in a round of the Super Race, the premier motor racing series of South-Korea.

“Originally, I was to compete in the Le Mans Series 1000 KM-race at Silverstone this weekend”, Carlo says. “The Saleen S7-R of the Atlas FX Team Fullspeed I race for in that series, however, was substantially damaged during the previous LMS-round in Hungary and could not be readied in time for Silverstone. I had already been invited to do this Super Race-event in South-Korea, so in the end I was able to take up that invitation after all.”

At Taebaek Racing Park, Carlo races for the South-Korean Chicane-team in the Super 6000-class, the fastest class of the Super Race-series, for six litre stock cars that were previously running in the Brazilian stock car championship. Carlo: “This is a new, quite a unique adventure and I of course didn’t know what to expect. The circuit here is about three hours driving from Seoul, so I don’t know where in the country I am exactly! But I am looking forward to it.”

In qualifying today, Carlo was second fastest, the race tomorrow is over 25 laps.
