Carlo van Dam joins Hitech for Macau
13-10-09Dutch Racing driver Carlo van Dam will race in the prestigious Formula 3 Grand Prix of Macau for the third time in his career during the weekend of November 21-22. Carlo will be racing for the British Hitech Racing-team which is highly successful in the British Formula 3 championship. Entered by the fastest drivers of the world’s leading Formula 3 series, the Macau Grand Prix has been the most important Formula 3-race for years now.
Carlo first raced at the fast Macau street circuit in 2007 after winning the German F3-title. That first outing earned him a contract with the Japanese TOM’s Toyota-team for which he won the Japanese F3 championship last year before claiming pole position at Macau. He looks forward to returning to that track next month: “Hitech is a renowned team and Macau is a great race. When Hitech asked me to join them, I was instantly interested of course. I have already tested their car for two days in Hungary and we will do some more testing in England soon. Last year I was quick at Macau and I know the circuit very well now, but to make predictions is pretty pointless, because at Macau anything can happen and it usually does. I will go back with an open mind and every intention to get the best out it.”
