Pole position and podium finish in Korea

Dutch racing driver Carlo van Dam last Saturday finished second for EXR Team 106 in a round of the South-Korean Super Race championship at the circuit of Taebek.

“I must say that it remains a really enjoyable adventure, racing in South-Korea. For the Super 6000-race I claimed pole position and I managed to lead for a while until I lost grip in the second half of the race. This dropped me to second, which is where I finished.

“Our tyre supplier Kumho had provided me with a new type of compound for this race and I think they would have worked out well if the weather conditions had been slightly different on race day. In any case, I was happy for the team to have managed to score another podium finish".

“I also competed in the Super 3800-event for EXR Team 106. Although my Hyundai Genesis wasn’t handling properly, we looked set for another podium finish when the gearbox failed.”

Carlo is now back in Japan where this coming weekend he will race in the Suzuka 500, round five of the Japanese Super GT Series, driving a Porsche 911 GT3 R entered by Direction Racing in the GT300-class.
