Carlo van Dam tenth at Autopolis

Dutchman Carlo van Dam and his Japanese team mate Yutaka Yamagishi yesterday (October 2) finished in tenth place in the Kyushu 250 KM at the circuit Autopolis, round seven of the

2011 Japanese Super GT championship. At Autopolis, Carlo raced a LMP Motorsport entered Ferrari F430 GTC for the first time.

“We started from eleventh place in the GT300-class and we eventually finished tenth without too much drama. That was pretty much the position where this Ferrari belonged here this weekend”, says Carlo.
“During qualifying we were one of the teams running cars that were not able to get the very best out of the softest tyres and so we just failed to make the top ten. In the race we did not have any major problems, but the difference in terms of performance compared to the frontrunners was just a bit too big to make up
places, so tenth really was the best that Yutaka Yamagishi and I could get out of the car today.”

In two weeks time, Carlo will again race for the Japanese LMP-team when the last Super GT round of this year is held at the circuit of Motegi.
