Carlo van Dam to race Audi R8 LMS in 6 Hours of Zhuhai

On November 13, Carlo van Dam will race an Audi R8 LMS of Japanese team Hitotsuyama Racing in the 6 Hours of Zhuhai, China, the final round of the 2011 Intercontinental Le Mans Cup.

Earlier this year, Carlo briefly tested the Hitotsuyama Racing Audi at the circuit of Fuji in Japan after which he was invited to join the team for the six-hour race in China, where he will share the R8 LMS with Japan’s Akihiro Tsuzuki and American Michael Kim.

“Hitotsuyama is a highly experienced team which this year, with the Audi, has won the Super Taikyu championship in Japan, a series of long distance series. And the R8 LMS is of course a great car to race.” Carlo says. “Next month, at Zhuhai, we will be racing in the GTC-class of the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup and must thus compete against an AMG Mercedes SLS en two works-R8s, so it will not be an easy run, but it s a long race and I am very much looking forward to it.”
