23-03-10

Dutch racing driver Carlo van Dam will this season race in the Le Mans Series. The 24-year old has been signed by the Austrian Atlas FX-Team Full Speed that has entered its Saleen S7-R in the LM GT1-class of the championship which in 2010 comprises five races.

“I am very happy to be doing the full Le Mans Series this year”, Carlo says. “In the past two years I have already done some endurance races in Japan and Europe and that was an enjoyable experience. Also, to me endurance racing can offer good opportunities for the future.”

“In 2009 I did the Spa 24 Hours with the Full Speed-Saleen and I very much appreciate the fact that the team has now given me the chance to race for them all season this year. Next week we will be testing for the first time.”

The Le Mans Series was first organized in 2004 by the Automobile Club de l’Ouest, the organizers of the Le Mans 24 Hours. The 2010 LMS-championship comprises an 8-hour race in France (Paul Ricard) and four 1000 KM-races in Belgium (Spa-Francorchamps), Portugal (Autodromo Algarve), Hungary (Hungaroring) and the UK (Silverstone). The first race is on April 11 in France.
