Good qualifyings from Carlo at the EuroSpeedway Lausitz

Yesterday was a difficult day for Carlo van Dam with setup problems which caused a big gap between Carlo and his main contenders for the championship. This morning Carlo qualified on a fourth place for the first race, and took pole position for the second race. Main contender Vervisch will start from the back for the second race after problems during the second qualifying.

Carlo: “This morning it was much better then yesterday! I qualified fourth (1:16.950) for the first race, although I think my position could have been better. My first flying lap was not as I hoped for and I stuck in traffic as well. For the second flying lap, we went out late and then again I stuck in traffic. After that, there was a red flag situation so I couldn’t improve my time anymore. Pole position was not possible but a second or third position would have been a better starting position.”

“The second qualifying started really well for us. I pushed right from the beginning and was able to drive a superb lap, which was a second faster compared to my time on Friday. It’s a relief to drive this pole position (1:16.367) after the problems we got yesterday.”

This afternoon, the first race at the EuroSpeedway Lausitz will start half past three.
