Good start for Carlo at Macau

13-11-08

Carlo van Dam got off to a good start this morning in the free practice and first qualifying for the Formula 3 Grand Prix in Macau. The TOM’s Toyota driver realised a 2:15.745 in the first practice. During the first qualifying the man from Vlaardingen went three seconds quicker, he drove a 2:12.772.

Carlo van Dam about his Thursday in Macau: “The first practice went quite well. We approached the session with some ease for a good build-up for the rest of the weekend. It’s important to start a weekend like Macau in a good manner and we did just that.”

“In the qualifying in the afternoon again things went good for us. I was able to realise a better time than in the free practice. I pushed a little, but there still is some room for improvement. The final qualifying is the most important session. That’s the moment when you have got to be quick and that track provides the most grip. I’m looking forward to tomorrow and making another step forward, because Edoardo Mortara is not far away on first place!”
