Good start for Carlo in first race weekend
04-04-08This morning Carlo’s first Formula 3 weekend in Japan for the Japanese TOM’s Toyota team has begun. In both training sessions he finished in third place.
A fine start of the weekend, according to Carlo: “Our start looks very promising. I ended up in third place after the first training session, only one tenth of a second behind the leader. The second practice session again I was third, but nearly half a second from the fastest time.”
“The first session went really well. I was up there with the best of the field. Most of all, I’m trying to beat my two team mates. To do so, you need to be lucky when it matters the most. After the first practice we changed a few things on the car, but in the second session that didn’t work out as we’ve hoped. We’ve got off to a good start. The weather was dry but a bit overcast. Saturday’s expectations will be sunny, but with a slight chance of rain on Sunday.”
Combined results after free practices:
1. T. Iguchi – TDP TOM’s – 1:34.464
2. K. Kunimoto – TDP TOM’s – 1:34.594
3. C. van Dam – Petronas TOM’s – 1:34.938
