Toyota Team TOM’s presents 2008 program
12-02-08Last weekend, Carlo van Dam was officially presented as driver of Toyota Team TOM’s, for which he will race in the 2008 Japanese Formula 3 Championship. The 21-year old Dutchman has moved to Gotemba in Japan, where last Saturday Toyota Team TOM’s presented its 2008 racing program and announced Malaysian company Petronas as its news title sponsor.
“It was a busy and interesting day”, says Carlo, who tested the new Dallara-Toyota at Fuji for the first time during the days leading up to the presentation.
“The presentation was staged in the new TOM’s workshop and many key people from the team, Toyota and Petronas were present. Having Petronas sponsoring the Formula 3, GT and Formula Nippon teams of TOM’s is good for everyone involved, including me. Petronas has been a major player in international motor sports for years now and I look forward to working together with them.”
Preparation for the new season will continue at the Motegi circuit, where Carlo will again test for Toyota Team TOM’s on February 20 and 21.
