Carlo unhappy despite first place on Friday

Carlo van Dam has started the second raceweekend on Suzka circuit this season well. The TOM’s Toyota driver realised the quickest time in the second free practice. Despite that first place Carlo was not happy with his day.

The summer break of four weeks ends this weekend and Carlo had to finf his rhytm today. “The first practice didn’t go so well. On old tyres I was way to slow. It tok some getting use to after four weeks without races.”

The second session went better with the best time for Carlo. “The midday practice went a little bit better, especially on new tyres. I lost some time because of a mistake in the last chicane. I was able to do consitent laps, which was nice.”

“The quickest time is good, but I am not happy because the day didn’t go as planned. And as a driver you always want to go faster and do better. The differences in laptimes are small. The biggest challenge will be to extract the maximum out of the tyres. The tyres only have three good laps due to the high temperatures.”
