Carlo van Dam happy with Motegi-test

10-10-10

Dutch racing driver Carlo van Dam was satisfied with the results of his two-day test for the Japanese SuperGT-team SARD earlier this week at the circuit of Motegi.

Last Wednesday and Thursday at Motegi, Carlo replaced André Couto in the Denso Dunlop Lexus SC430 of the SARD-team. He looks back satisfied on the two-day test: “It went well, I did quite a lot of laps and tested a number of different tires. I was on the pace pretty quickly and happy with the times we did. All in all it was a good experience; SuperGT is a great racing series.

Richard Divila, Chief Racing Engineer at SARD, said: “Carlo did a very good test; he got up to speed very quickly and was on the job right away. The team did approximately 65 laps on each of the two days, concentrating on long runs. It was Carlo’s first time running with the paddle shift and he got on with it veryquickly. His previous GT500 experience was in a TRD-car, but that was a stick shift, not even sequential.”
