Carlo's day ends early in Hockenheim

The first free practice has finished in Hockenheim. Carlo van Dam had not a very good start of the weekend on Friday. During the morning session, the Dutchman drove the 14th time. In the afternoon, Carlo had to end his session early.

Carlo: “During the morning we had a lot of rain. The track was drying up and we could put on the slicks later in the session. It went ok for us. At the end of the session I was able to put just one fast lap. I made a small mistake so I could have go a bit faster. The car is pretty ok in terms of balance, we only miss a lot of top speed.”

“The free practice was not going well. After six laps, I went off the track. There’s a iron plate there where I jumped onto with the car. The iron place launched me into the car and when the car came back on the ground it was damaged. That was the end of my session basically. Tomorrow morning we will qualify at 8.00 in the morning. We expect rain and I think with some luck, we should be able to qualify within the top 15.”
