Carlo van Dam confident for Montegi weekend
22-05-08The Japanese Formula 3 teams have arrived at the Montegi circuit for the fourth weekend of the season. Carlo van Dam is feeling confident. “I am very happy with the results from last weekend, so I’m pretty confident. I’ve tested here before, so I’ve seen the track, which isn’t particularly exciting, but suits me nonetheless. We are sure we are able to fight for the victory here.”
Two sessions of free practice will be held on Friday. “Weather forecasts say it may rain on Saturday, which sounds exciting. During wet track conditions, the car responds differently and I have more difficulties keeping the car under control. When it’s dry, I have no complaints whatsoever: the car behaves excellently, and therefore I hope it will stay dry during the weekend. But I’m looking forward to racing on the Montegi circuit anyway.”
This may very well be a very important part of the season for Carlo, but he is confident. “Together with the team we discussed a couple of things and I have exercised a lot to be fully prepared physically for this weekend. This might be a few of the most important races of the season with three racing weekends within a very short period of time. Making it through this series successfully will give a lot of confidence for the rest of the season.”
